In 1998 Gluth Construction completed our home. They had to overcome several challenges, difficult build site, unique one of a kind design and a picky owner. John Gluth, his sons and other workers met every challenge completing our home in a reasonable time and with high quality standards. Their trim and finish work is some of the best we have ever seen in any custom home. We were pleased enough that one year later we contracted John to build an additional building on our site. They were again fast, reliable and quality builders.

My husband and I had heard horror stories about the process of building a new house. Struggles with contractors not showing up, struggles with deadlines not being meet, and struggles with budgets not being kept were all among the headaches. Dependable. On November 10, 2002, a tornado hit the city of Port Clinton, Ohio. Its destruction was like nothing Port Clinton has ever seen. My husband and I are self employed with an apartment rental business. The tornados path took the entire roof off of a 21 unit apartment complex that we own and operate. We were left totally overwhelmed with the magnitude of work that lay upon us on the morning of November 11, 2002. John Gluth and crew where currently making wonderful progress on our home on Catawba Island, but that seemed unimportant to us at a time when so many of our tenants were left homeless and the state of our business was in such turmoil. With one phone call, the entire Gluth team changed gears and rallied behind us in our effort to get the apartments repaired. Within the day on November 11th (just 12 hours after the tornado had hit), building supplies were delivered to our apartment lawn and within days an entire roof was again covering our apartments. When we think back to such a stressful time for us, we still are left in disbelief of how hardworking and compassionate John Gluth, John Gluth Jr., and their entire crew was in helping us. And...without skipping a beat, as soon as the apartments were back to normal, the progress once again continued on our new home. This gives the word dependable a whole new meaning. Unbelievable! What a blessing they were to us!
